Welcome. I’m Dan Costello, Founder and CEO of Acumium. My passion for helping clients solve complex problems and grow their businesses with technology is what Acumium was built on in 2001, and it continues to be our core mission today.
BA: Before Acumium
Prior to founding Acumium, I was the Chief Technology Officer at a web development and marketing agency in Madison. In the past, I was a Webmaster and Web Developer for the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Chemistry department, a job I worked while I completed my Biochemistry degree- graduating with honors and in just 3 years. I attended UW-Madison after serving in the U.S. Army for four years in the 2nd Armored Calvary in military intelligence, which tends to explain my focus on Acumium’s security and policies.
A passion project…
Acumium is my passion project. I started the company as an eBusiness and software company with zero employees, and we’ve grown into a customer-focused website development and digital marketing agency, serving hundreds of businesses, across dozens of industries, on multiple continents. I am proud of the work we’re doing every day to ensure that we deliver success and value to all of our customers.
A few of my favorite things…
I’m a tinkerer by nature. I love working with gadgets and building things (toys, tools, and just about anything) from scratch, something I’ve been doing since I was a kid. This same mindset has carried over into many personal interests and has sparked my community involvement and sustainability efforts. I currently volunteer, mentor and serve on a committee for the City of Monona, and look at sustainable solutions for both Acumium and my household. At the end of the day though, I love spending time with my wife and four children. Whether we’re cooking, exploring Madison or just hanging out around the house, I find these are my favorite moments.
