As Founder and CEO, Dan has a sincere passion for using the Web to help clients grow their business, not to just build websites, but to solve business problems using a thorough process to do things right. Dan is a captivating storyteller and has a knack for helping people understand problems and objectives, but under all of that, Dan is brilliant with technology. What takes very credible companies months or years to accomplish, he and his team can do in weeks. As the firm's chief leader, Dan oversees the strategic direction of the firm, its technology and its enterprise accounts.

Before Acumium, Dan served in the U.S. Army as a Signals Intelligence Team Leader for almost four years, which explains his focus on Acumium’s security and policies. During his time in the service, he was quickly promoted through the ranks and received a number of service medals including 7 Army Achievement medals and an Army Commendation Medal. After leaving the army, Dan was accepted into the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned his BS degree in 3 years, completing the Honors curriculum in Biochemistry, in addition to taking courses in Computer Science. In addition, he was involved in several research projects and contributed to several published papers in biochemistry and inorganic chemistry.

Early in his career, Dan spent a few years as a technology leader in a New Media agency during the Internet boom (mid-90s) before deciding to start his own company, Acumium, in 2001. The company started as a successful eBusiness and software company with zero employees, and grew to what it is today, serving hundreds of businesses in over a dozen industries on multiple continents. Dan enjoys building and working with a great team that has fun and does great work for the customers. “I am proud of the work we do and work hard to ensure that we deliver success and value to all of our customers.”

Outside of Acumium life, Dan is passionate about spending time with his wife, two sons, two stepchildren, extended family and good friends. Dan enjoys downhill skiing and is also a “tinkerer,” something he’s been doing since childhood. He loves ripping apart gadgets and building his own “toys.” Most recently, Dan built his own RC helicopter from scratch.
