NextTen: Catalogue Goes On-Line

NextTen, a specialty catalogue company, wanted to bring their catalogue online. Not only did they want to bring their products to the web, they needed a solution that could handle real time updates, handle high traffic and be able to manage site in-house.
NextTen needed to bring their already successful catalogue business on-line. They needed a robust e-commerce solution that could handle real time content updates and withstand the strain of high volume traffic. They wanted to completely manage their website content in-house, allowing them to change their copy, photos and special offers at any time, without having to rely on website programmers.

To add to the content challenges, the storefront needed to seamlessly integrate with their backend order processing system (Ecometry). The storefront also needed to provide real-time statistical information including web traffic, sales, buyer tendencies, and trends.

The Acumium Solution

Utilizing the Acumium Framework and the Web Content Management System (WCMS), Acumium developed an interactive self-administrative website that was built on their existing server infrastructure using Windows COM and COM+. This resulted in quick deployment of the website and enabled NextTen staff to maintain all aspects of their website in real-time.

To accomplish real-time order handling and processing, Ecometry Corporations COM API was used to integrate order management tools and customer feedback into their internal Ecometry order fulfillment system.

Additional technologies used for this implementation:

  • Windows 2000 Server
  • IIS 5.0 Web Server
  • COM, COM+
  • Active Server Pages
  • Ecometry WebCOM API
  • and XML, MSXML
