INTERNSHIP: Online Marketing Specialist

Acumium is seeking an intern with the desire to grow into a full time position in Online Marketing to join our growing team in Madison. Our team works in a relaxed, friendly and energetic environment.

Candidates should have general familiarity with social media, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, pay per click, analytics and email marketing with a passion for proficiency in those tactics. The Online Marketing Specialist will eventually assist clients in planning and implementation of strategies to improve natural search, paid placement, email marketing and sales conversion. Candidate should be detail-oriented, with ability to analyze and report on online marketing campaigns.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Perform keyword research and analysis 
  2. Plan, implement and track successful online marketing campaigns, including:
    • Email
    • Pay Per Click 
    • Social media 
    • Online shopping portals 
  3. Plan and create optimized campaign landing pages
  4. Monitor online competitor activity 
  5. Provide detailed campaign reporting and analysis 
  6. Work directly with clients to manage their ongoing campaigns, including: 
    • Research, identify and establish partnerships with potential clients 
    • Document site optimization and make recommendations to improve visibility, CTR, and increase conversions 
    • Use bid management tools to achieve the highest ROI 
    • Must be able to minimize CPC by increasing quality index 
    • Track, report, and analyze online marketing initiatives and campaigns 
    • Optimize keyword portfolios through (but not limited to): testing, ad copy, landing pages, bidding strategies, negative keywords, keyword research and analysis, competitor analysis, generating ranking reports, conducting site audits 
  7.  Stay current with advances in search engine marketing and the competitive landscape

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or working toward a Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or other related field. Any related experience with Search Engine Marketing and Optimization is not required but is desired. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated skill set and experience in the following areas:

PHP Programmer I

 Acumium is looking to expand its web development team at its Madison, Wisconsin location for the GravityMarket and GravityMail product lines.

Acumium’s Gravity products provide an exciting breadth of programming opportunities developing robust, secure and scalable web applications for our customer base of e-commerce and email marketing customers.

The right candidate should have a passion for writing software and have a strong foundation in PHP5, MySQL,  Apache, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and object-oriented programming.

 SKILLS REQUIRED:
●    Experience in object oriented programming / modular programming
●    Understanding of MVC design patterns and framework
●    Understanding of secure code writing and application such as those outlined by OWASP
●    Front-end development including jQuery
●    Experience with CSS and Web Standard based HTML coding
●    Familiarity with software version control systems
●    Understanding of Ajax and dynamic DOM manipulation
●    Experience of the full software development life cycle: from requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
●    Commercial experience in Web Application development and / or software development
●    Some knowledge of the Linux command line
●    Good levels of communication, both written and verbal
●    Enthusiasm and an interest in all things technology related

Lead PHP Web Developer

Candidate should have the ability to work both as a member and leader of a programming team. The programmer should be able to perform detail level planning, testing, and implementation with little to no supervision.  This position requires good writing and communication skills as well as the ability to successfully complete projects within time estimates.  Candidate should have a strong foundation in using a modern application framework and be able to demonstrate experience and skills in professional web development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Ensure that projects proceed according to budget, timeline and scope requirements
2.    Manage changes in project resources as necessary while identifying, securing and coordinating implementation of resources as appropriate to achieve project objectives
3.    Analyze, review, and alter applications to increase operating efficiency and adapt to new requirements
4.    Build new components to include but not limited to: architecture and data modeling, implementation, unit and integration testing
5.    Manage updates of existing components to include but not limited to: Component testing and QA review, Class and package documentation, Fixing and re-factoring when necessary
6.    Adhere to established source control database standards
7.    Explore new directions through Research and Development
8.    Maintain and streamline current components and design patterns for standardization
9.    Oversee maintenance of database objects
10.    Identify and develop working relationship at all levels; ensure that key stakeholders are kept appropriately informed of project activities and are encouraged to participate as appropriate
11.    Advise process teams representing constituent needs regarding cross-functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimization of best practices
12.    Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of the project; recruits, trains, oversees, and deploys technical and functional staff as appropriate
13.    As a member of the Software Development team, the Programmer is expected to be a mentor and positive influence to other members of the team
14.    Develop and manage project budgets and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses
15.    Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree (Masters Degree preferred) and at least 7 years experience directly related to web software development

The successful candidate must have solid technical skills and experience in developing robust client/server or distributed applications using Web development tools, object-oriented programming languages and techniques, database design and optimization tools and leading operating system and network platforms.
